Proper Pet Care

Does your doggy to-do list just add to the stress and busyness of your day? In the hassle of day-to-day life, it's hard to stop and take joy in the little things (like pet care).

Don't forget that proper pet care is good for BOTH of you! This summer do a mental makeover and remind yourself of all the wonderful benefits that spring from simply taking good care of your pet!

Exercise Your Dog

Your dog loves it. Do you? Out in the fresh air and warm sunshine, you get a break from the computer screen and get a dose of the sun's vitamin D instead. While exercising, both you and your pet are burning calories, lowering blood pressure and obtaining a natural energy boost. Find a mode of exercise that you both love, whether that's Frisbee, swimming or old-fashioned fetch.

Grooming Your Dog

Petting or grooming your dog is more therapeutic than you probably realize. Dogs love to know that you are there for them, and you love to know that he's there for you.  Did you know that petting your pup is even stress-reliving? When you pet your dog, oxytocin (the hormone related to anxiety) is released. Your furry companion is always a comfort no matter what you may be dealing with.

Keep Your Dog Healthy

A healthy pet is a happy pet, and a happy pet is a happy you! When you are proactive about keeping your pet healthy, you are protecting your morale too. Keep up on those vaccinations and good nutrition. What better way to cheer up than to roll around, scratch and dance with your healthy, happy dog?
