You have a new member of your family—a new puppy or kitten! We can’t wait to meet the little one and encourage you to bring him or her as soon as possible, preferably by 6 to 8 weeks old. Puppy and kitten care should include a vaccination schedule; introducing new pets to the value of vaccines in a timely fashion helps to ensure your pet has a long, healthy life.

At Intermountain Pet Hospital, we understand that it’s a busy time for you as a new pet owner, and we want to make things as easy for you as possible. We have created a wellness package for puppies and kittens that offers not only a financial savings for you, but also peace of mind knowing you are getting your pet off to the best start possible.

Puppy and kitten wellness screenings are critical for your pet because they help us identify if there is a congenital kidney, liver, or blood disorders that otherwise won’t be detected until your pet is experiencing symptoms. Diagnosing conditions such as these early means we can begin appropriate treatment early and prevent further health issues in the future. We are also able to establish a baseline for what is normal for your new pet, so we have something to compare to if illnesses crop up in the future. Additionally, many pets are spayed or neutered at around 5 to 6 months of age. The blood work done during the wellness checks helps ensure that your pet is fully able to handle the anesthesia and won’t have an adverse reaction.

The pediatric wellness package includes:

The package typically covers the last puppy or kitten visit at approximately 16 weeks of age. The total cost of the puppy or kitten wellness package is $142.50.
