Prevention & Wellness for Adult Pets at Intermountain Pet Hospital

Well pet visits are absolutely essential to maintaining your pet’s good health. At Intermountain Pet Hospital, we firmly believe prevention is the best means for ensuring your pet has a long, healthy life. With regular wellness checks, we are able to detect minor physical issues at the beginning stages, when treatment is most successful.

At each wellness checkup, we will evaluate your pet’s health and monitor changes or health issues before they become more extensive. In order to properly monitor and manage your pet’s health care, we suggest your pet come in yearly for a hands-on, full-body wellness examination.

• Vital statistics, such as weight, pulse, temperature, and breathing rate
• Ears, eyes, and mouth
• Heart and lungs
• Reproductive organs, if applicable
• Skin
• Abdomen
• Legs and joints

We also make sure your pet’s vaccination schedule is up to date and make recommendations for future vaccines. Please feel free to come prepared with questions if you have any concerns with your pet at home. We welcome the opportunity to offer help. We are pleased to offer wellness packages for our adult patients. In order to make your pet’s wellness checkups as beneficial to you financially as they are to your pet physically, we have negotiated a lower price with our reference laboratory. We pass the 45% to 50% savings on to you, making sure your pet’s good health is cost effective for you.

Our adult wellness package includes:

• Comprehensive physical exam
• Vaccinations that are due
• Intestinal parasite exam
• Heartworm test
• Complete blood count
• Complete blood chemistry
• Full thyroid panel—Many vets only check the T4 levels when assessing your pet’s thyroid issues. While testing only the T4 is less expensive, it also misses some thyroid problems. With our full thyroid panel, no thyroid issue will be undetected.
• Pancreatic test
• Urinalysis—In the event the urine needs to be collected with ultrasound guidance, we take the time to examine the bladder as well.
• FELV and FIV infections (cats only)
